Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship
Outstanding engineers may apply for the Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship 2022–2031, which is a research opportunity designed to acknowledge, promote, and support translational research for the advancement of engineering excellence. The chosen candidates will also receive other incentives, including a monthly fellowship worth INR 25,000. Each year, a maximum of 10 fellowships will be given out.
Outstanding engineers will receive Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowships from the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), which will acknowledge, promote, and fund their translational research in an effort to advance engineering, innovation, and technological advancement.
Eligibility
To be qualified, a candidate must
- Both Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who have permanent engineering posts in publicly financed institutions in India are eligible for the program.
- The candidate must be qualified professionally and hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
- As of the date of the award, this applicant shall have a minimum of five (5) years of service left in the parent company.
- If selected, the applicant must choose just one of the scholarships and must not currently hold any other fellowships.
Benefits
The following advantages will be granted to the chosen candidates:
- 25,000 rupees are paid as a fellowship each month in addition to normal pay.
- a yearly research grant of Rs. 15 lakhs.
- An annual overhead fee of Rs. 1 lakh to the hosting institute
- The fellowship is taxed in accordance with Indian government IT regulations.
- This fellowship is only available for translational research that could result in a patent (filed, sold, or marketed), a working model or prototype for testing, or a technology that could be deployed or commercialized (in addition but not limited only to scientific publication).
